The Government of Malaysia (myGov)
myGov is the main digital gateway into Malaysia. It represents the federal government of Malaysia that connects people to all the related services. myGov provides links to citizens, non-citizens and is the one-stop centre for investors and businesses as well as foreigners seeking related information of the country like trade and tourism.
Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC)
MDeC is now known as Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation. Launched in 1996 as Multimedia Development Corporation, it comes under the purview of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia. MDeC is responsible to develop and promote the digital economy of Malaysia putting in place initiatives and incentives to attract investors into the ICT sector of the country.
Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation Sdn. Bhd.
Known as the Bioeconomy Corporation, this agency comes under the purview of MOSTI (Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation). Among its major role include carrying out the objectives of the NBP or National Biotechnology Policy which include growing of the Malaysian Biotechnology industry, research and development and other developmental areas.
Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC)
The HDC’s aim is to promote Malaysia as the Global Halal Hub. Established in 2006, it is responsible in coordinating the Halal industry of the country and its related developments. This includes processes like development of standards, carrying out of audits and certification and promoting better participation of the Halal industry.
Malaysia Property Incorporated (MPI)
MPI comes under the purview of the federal Malaysian government’s EPU (Economic Planning Unit). It is an agency involved in connecting foreign investors to invest in real estate in Malaysia. This is done through various programmes like partnerships, incentives, awareness campaigns and related programmes to both corporate and private buyers.
Invest KL plays a vital role in the growth and development of the federal capital. It comes under the purview of MITI, Ministry of Federal Territories and PEMANDU where it is involved in programmes and initiatives to attract investments, both foreign and local to Kuala Lumpur. This includes carrying out of awareness events, formulating policies or fiscal packages and others.
Established in 2011, TalentCorp Malaysia was set up to address the issue of brain-drain of the country. It comes under the purview of the Prime Minister’s Department where TalentCorp is responsible in driving initiatives to bridge the skill gaps of the country via areas like enhancing graduate employability and managing of the local human capital.
State Government Agencies
Selangor State Investment Centre Berhad (SSIC)
SSIC runs the Invest Selangor initiative for the state of Selangor. It provides a one-stop centre for investors looking to venture or establish their businesses in the state. This include providing relevant information and services like advice and consultation on benefits of setting up base in Selangor as well as other programmes and campaign awareness programmes.
Johor State Investment Centre (JSIC)
JSIC functions as a one-stop centre for investors looking to establish their footing in the state of Johor. Established in 2004, it is managed by the state government of Johor under the Chief Minister’s office. Its main role is to promote Johor as an ideal destination for investments, businesses and such.
Pahang State Development Corporation (PKNP)
PKNP is the state organisation established to help grow the local industries for the state of Pahang. Set up in 1965, it is among the oldest agencies where it is involved in promoting Pahang via efforts to bring in investments from both local and foreign companies. Besides that, it helps to facilitate development in industrialization, property and other commercial regions.
This agency is managed under the state of Perak where it plays an integral role in helping businesses enter the state. It promotes the state through initiatives and awareness campaigns to educated businesses about benefits of operating in Perak, its socio-economic development, policies, political stability, environment and other related issues.
Invest Penang is a prominent state agency in charge of facilitating efforts to bring investments into Penang. This is done via various types of efforts and programmes where the agency promotes Penang as a suitable destination for businesses and manufacturing companies to set up their base and operations for growth and expansion.
This is an agency solely involved in bringing in investors into the state of Kedah. It is involved in deriving initiatives and other activities to spread awareness about operating in the northern state and its prominent areas like the Kulim Hi-Tech Park, the Kedah Science and Tech Park and in its high-profile sectors like rubber, paddy and tourism.
Negeri Sembilan Investment Centre (NSIC)
The NSIC is the investment arm of the state of Negeri Sembilan. It works closely with government and state agencies in facilitating the business sector of the state. NSIC is focused in helping investors build their businesses in the state, particularly foreign organisations seeking to operate in the state of Negeri Sembilan.
Kelantan State Economic Planning Unit
The Kelantan State EPU is the state agency involved in managing all areas of economic development. Its role include providing consultation, advice and other related matters to the state government of Kelantan in issues pertaining to the growth and expansion of the markets which include implementing of policies as well as marketing efforts.
Perlis State Economic Development Corporation (PKENP)
PKENP is the main economic agency involved in the growing of the socio-economic development for the state of Perlis. Terengganu State Economic Planning Unit

Ministry of Industrial Development Sabah

Ministry of Industrial Development Sarawak
The MID Sarawak is under the purview of the Sarawak state government. This agency is involved in building the industrial development of the state. It has since been merged with the Entrepreneur & Halal Industry Development Unit and is known as the Ministry of Industrial & Entrepreneur Development, Trade and Investment Sarawak or MIETI Sarawak.
