Halal Industry Development Corporation

The Halal industry in Malaysia is known to be one of the largest markets in the economy. The Malaysian market has contributed much to the global industry and this is done through agencies like the Halal Industry Development Corporation.

HIDC the way forward

HIDC was established in 2006 where among its many roles include developing the Halal industry of the country. It is the sole agency that deals directly with all stakeholders like food producers and suppliers in the Halal market.

Roles and Responsibilities of HIDC

This is where HIDC is involved in all facets of coordination which include but not limited to the following:

  • Development of standards in the Halal industry
  • Providing certification and carrying out audits
  • Facilitating growth for Halal products and services
  • and many others

The idea behind the formation of HIDC is to position Malaysia as a global Halal hub and that is suitably done with the growing market demand for these products and services.
