A member of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Main Market, Hock Sin Leong Group Berhad (HSLG) is a homegrown organization. The Group started from humble beginnings in 1930, retailing bicycles and electrical appliances. HSLG was incorporated as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1965 on January 29, 1975. HSLG became a member of the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia on May 2, 2002.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES

HSLG’s principal activity is investment holding and provision of management services to its 14 wholly owned subsidiaries.

The Group’s headquarters is located at Pandan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur. HSLG manages over 40 retail outlets with approximately 250,000 sq ft of sales and display floor areas, distribution and product servicing regional centers throughout Malaysia and a product assembly complex.

As an integrated group, HSLG businesses encompass all aspects of the consumer electrical and electronics industry, ranging from assembly to distribution, retailing and product servicing of electrical and electronics appliances.

AWARDS & ACCOLADES

HSLG has drawn remarkable results and gained several recognition awards and accolades, that include its nominations as one of the 50 most enterprising companies in Malaysia for two consecutive years in 1998 and 1999. The Group in 2002, received its the internationally acclaimed Global Outstanding Enterprise Golden Rim Award from the Chinese Enterprise Development Association of Taiwan in recognition of the Group’s prominent performance in the consumer electrical and electronics industry and the stability of its operations that positions the Group as a model for all industries.

Reaffirming the Group’s reputation, in 2003, the Group received the prestigious Fair Price Shop Awards 2003/2004 from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Customer Affairs Malaysia endorsing the retail division’s fair strategy adopted throughout all ottlets in the retail division.

Being the leading player in the industry, Hock Sin Leong Group Berhad and its fully owned subsidiary, HSL Electrical & Electronics Sdn Bhd were successfully listed on the Malaysia 1000, a top corporate directory published by the Companies Commission of Malaysia in year 2003.

Also in 2003, the HSL brand, its philosophy and value of business had been enhanced when it bagged the coveted Superbrands award.
