Top Glove Corporation Berhad is involved in the rubber manufacturing business in Malaysia. It is a public listed company in Bursa Malaysia traded under stock code 7113. Generally, it manufactures rubber gloves and has a lot of credentials since it started operations.

Top Glove is actually the top rubber glove maker in Malaysia. This is one of the most remarkable success stories from Malaysia to have ventured and become widely successful worldwide. To date, it has 40 manufacturing facilities across the globe including at home in Malaysia as well as in:

  1. Thailand
  2. China
  3. United States (Marketing office)
  4. German (Marketing office)

Background and achievements

Top Glove was founded by Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai in 1991. It currently employs about 17,000 people which helps in producing more than 60 billion rubber gloves. When it started out, Top Glove only had 1 manufacturing facility and 1 production line totally 100 people. Since then, it has grown to become the largest manufacturer of rubber gloves in the world where it holds about a quarter of the market share. To this juncture, Top Glove now exports to nearly 200 countries through its nearly 650 lines.
As a public listed company, Top Glove started in the Second Board before being promoted to the Main Board (of KLSE then) in about a year.

Consumer perception

As a market leader in its sector, Top Glove has grown to become one of the major stock counters in Bursa Malaysia. It forms part of the stocks that make up various indexes in Malaysia and Singapore. In Malaysia, Top Glove is often given high regards by its customers mainly because of its success of having started as a small company before venturing global to take the world by storm.
